QUICK PRE-CARE (Start 3–5 Days Before)

Preparation = better results. Don’t skip this.

DO:

  • Pause actives: Stop retinol, vitamin C, acids (AHA/BHA), exfoliants, and benzoyl peroxide.

  • Hydrate well: Increase water intake for at least 48 hours prior.

  • Arrive with clean skin: No makeup, SPF, or skincare on treatment day.

  • Disclose medications: Tell your provider if you take blood thinners, aspirin, or anti-inflammatories.

DON’T:

  • No alcohol or smoking for 24–48 hours before (PRP quality matters).

  • No sunburn or tanning (including spray tans) at least 7 days prior.

  • No facial treatments (lasers, peels, waxing) for 7–10 days before.

POST-CARE: DO’s (First 7–14 Days)

Cleanse Gently

  • Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser with cool or lukewarm water.

  • Pat dry with a clean, soft towel—no rubbing.

Hydrate Aggressively

  • Apply hyaluronic acid and/or a rich, fragrance-free moisturizer multiple times daily.

  • Drink plenty of water—hydration directly impacts collagen response.

Protect from the Sun

  • Apply mineral SPF 30+ daily once cleared by your provider (usually after 24 hours).

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 14 days.

  • Hats and shade are your best friends.

Soothe the Skin

  • Use cool compresses to reduce heat or discomfort.

  • Apply only provider-approved calming serums or gels (PRP skin is highly absorbent).

Sleep Smart (Often Missed)

  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase.

  • Try to sleep on your back the first 2–3 nights to reduce irritation and swelling.

POST-CARE: DON’Ts (Critical)

No Makeup

  • Avoid makeup for 24–72 hours.

  • If absolutely necessary after 24 hours, use clean mineral makeup only

No Harsh Products

  • Skip retinol, vitamin C, acids, exfoliants, and scrubs for 3–7 days (or until skin is fully healed)

No Heat or Sweat

  • Avoid workouts, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and hot showers for 3–7 days.

  • Heat = inflammation = delayed healing.

No Touching or Picking

  • Do not scratch, rub, or pick the skin.

  • Let flaking or peeling shed naturally to avoid scarring or infection.

No Alcohol or Smoking

  • Avoid for at least 7 days.

  • These significantly slow healing and reduce PRP effectiveness.

WHAT TO EXPECT (Normal Healing)

Redness / Sunburn Sensation

  • Normal for 24–48 hours.

  • Skin may feel warm or tight.

Peeling / Flaking

  • Common between days 2–5.

  • This is part of the renewal process—do not exfoliate.

Healing & Results Timeline

  • Skin glow and texture improve within 7–10 days.

  • Collagen remodeling continues for 4–6 weeks.

  • Best results occur with multiple sessions.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Results are cumulative, not instant.

  • Following these instructions is not optional if you want optimal outcomes.

  • Contact your provider immediately if you experience excessive swelling, pain, or signs of infection.
