WAX PRE-CARE & POS-CARE

Proper pre-care and post-care are essential for a successful and comfortable waxing experience. Here are some tips for both:

 

 PRE-CARE

Hair Length: Ensure that your hair is at least a quarter-inch long for effective waxing. If it's too short, the wax may not grip the hair properly.

Exfoliation: Gently exfoliate the skin a day or two before waxing to remove dead skin cells. This can help prevent ingrown hairs.

Clean Skin: Cleanse the area to be waxed thoroughly to remove any makeup, lotions, or oils. This helps the wax adhere better to the hair.

Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid tanning or prolonged sun exposure at least 24 hours before waxing, as this can increase sensitivity.

Pain Management: If you're concerned about pain, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever 30-60 minutes before your appointment.

Hydration: Stay well-hydrated, as this contributes to the overall health of your skin and can make the waxing process more comfortable.

POS-CARE

Avoid Sun Exposure: Steer clear of direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 24 hours post-waxing to prevent skin irritation.

Skip Hot Baths and Showers: Avoid hot baths, showers, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 24 hours after waxing, as the heat can exacerbate sensitivity.

Loose Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent friction and irritation on the newly waxed area.

Avoid Fragranced Products: Skip perfumed lotions, creams, and other scented products for a day or two, as they may irritate freshly waxed skin.

Gentle Cleansing: Clean the waxed area gently with mild, fragrance-free soap to prevent infection. Avoid harsh or heavily scented products.

Moisturize: Hydrate the skin with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to soothe and nourish the waxed area.

No Touching: Avoid touching the waxed area unnecessarily, as bacteria from your hands could cause infection.

Exfoliate (After a Few Days): Begin gentle exfoliation after a few days to help prevent ingrown hairs. Use a mild exfoliating scrub or brush.
